Common Causes of Breakouts in Summer

Common Causes of Breakouts in Summer

It's that time of year again - summertime! The sun is shining, the beaches are crowded, and everyone is enjoying the warm weather. Unfortunately, for many people this also means dealing with breakouts. If you're one of those people, don't worry - we're here to help. In this blog post, we'll discuss the common causes of breakouts in summer and how to treat them. So read on and learn how to keep your skin looking its best all season long!

There are a few things that can cause breakouts in summer, but the most common culprit is sweat. When your body sweating, it creates a perfect environment for bacteria to grow. This can lead to pimples and acne flare-ups. If you're prone to breakouts, make sure to wash your face regularly - especially after sweating - to prevent pimples from forming.

Another common cause of summer breakouts is sun exposure. The sun's rays can damage your skin and lead to inflammation, which can in turn cause pimples and other blemishes. If you're spending time outdoors, make sure to wear sunscreen - even if you don't think you'll be in the sun for very long. And if you do happen to get a sunburn, don't pick at the skin - this will only make the problem worse.

There are a few other less common causes of summer breakouts, but these are the most prevalent. Now that you know what can cause pimples and acne in summer, let's talk about how to treat them.

The first and most important step in treating summer breakouts is to keep your skin clean. Wash your face twice a day - once in the morning and once at night - with a gentle cleanser. Avoid scrubbing too hard, as this can irritate the skin and make breakouts worse. You should also exfoliate a few times a week to remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and lead to pimples.

In addition to keeping your skin clean, you also need to make sure it's well-moisturized. Use a light, non-greasy moisturizer every day, even if you have oily skin. This will help to balance your skin's natural oils and prevent pimples from forming.

If you do happen to get a pimple, don't panic! There are a few things you can do to treat it. First, resist the urge to pick or pop the pimple. This will only make it worse and could lead to scarring. Instead, try using a spot treatment containing benzoyl peroxide, mandelic acid, alpha lipoic acid or salicylic acid. These ingredients will help to kill the bacteria that's causing the pimple and reduce inflammation.

If you follow these tips, you should be able to keep your skin looking its best all summer long!
